Imagining Creates Reality – Visualization

Often times, I hear people ask questions such as, “Am I visualizing correctly?”, “Am I getting into SATS properly?”, “How many times do I need to visualize?”, and the list goes on. This is understandable, as Neville stresses the importance of getting into a drowsy state, and that our creative power – our own wonderful human imagination – is God. It is the dreamer inside of us. It is important to understand, though, that visualization is just a tool. It serves as a tool to help facilitate us to get into that feeling place of our wish being fulfilled, and to make impressions on our subconscious minds. “Imagining creates reality” does not mean just visualization. Go take a look at the definition of “imagining”.

So as you can see, imagining means more than just conjuring up mental images in your mind’s eye. Imagination is wonderful, but we mustn’t forget that we have been manifesting our entire lives without forcing ourselves to get into a drowsy state all of the time. Too many people spend more time wondering if they are visualizing correctly, or how to do it, to the point where they become dependent on it. If you think that you need to use this great Law only before bed, when you are drifting off to sleep, then you are depriving yourself of all of the incredible ways you could be manifesting throughout your day.

Neville himself said that it is a misconception that one must wait until they go to bed in order to imagine. With that being said, visualization is only one aspect of imagining and you do not need to conjure up vivid images all of the time, in order to realize your desire. Your desire can be expressed in your external world by simply just believing it is a done deal, and assuming it is already here right NOW. Not over there, somewhere, in some far away distant place. If you start to think FROM your wish being fulfilled, and not OF it, it is inevitable that you will receive anything and everything you desire.

“Creation is finished”, simply means that there are an infinite amount of realities all co-existing at once. They have already been created by God, so there is no need for us to do that. It is already taken care of, so you can relieve yourself from thinking you need to take some kind of action to create your desires. With this understanding, we are simply selecting a reality in which our desire is expressed, when we assume our wish is already fulfilled and we persist in this new assumption. A natural bridge of incidents will occur, no matter what tool or technique you use, as long as your new inner state is not being disturbed by anything in the external, and you’re not wondering whether you did it right or not.

If creation is already finished, it can’t go wrong! Only your assumptions in believing you did something wrong, is what expresses undesirable realities. Consciously choose to finally break free from this limiting belief of yours. It will not serve you in any way. Our egos and our human minds thrive off of complicating everything. Constantly looking for the new this and that, thinking that something else must be done.

A lot of people stress the importance of getting into a drowsy state in order to visualize “properly”, or to do it a certain way. In my own personal experience, there is no wrong way to visualize. I have seen people manifest their desires from visualizing in third person, from not being in a drowsy state, and not making it as vivid as possible. Including my own self. In fact, what you do outside of your visualization is much more important. Your assumptions, your beliefs, your thoughts, your reactions, your actions etc. We have seen plenty of evidence of people who visualize for months and get absolutely nowhere. Because this simply is not enough. It isn’t even necessary, like I said earlier.

Neville himself gave alternative methods to visualization because he knew that feeling is the secret. It is the most important aspect. Your assumptions and everything else related to your desires being expressed, are dependent on one thing, and one thing only, and that is feeling. How are you feeling right now? Are you feeling like you are God? Right this moment, are you aware that everything is already yours? Can you feel this knowing feeling? Do you feel the relief of your desires already being yours? Are you still calling your desire, a desire?

You can visualize for months, while still being in a state of lack. While still feeling like your desire is not yours, while thinking you need to attract it, or that it may or may not come “some day”. While there are plenty of other people who do not get into SATS, or visualize, and they take absolutely no action, and their desire is still expressed in their external realities.

I know that many people swear by conjuring up vivid images in their mind’s eye. As a matter of fact, I have had plenty of success doing so myself. But I have also had plenty of success with just sporadic thoughts or moments of “zoning out”, or day dreaming. Or simply just commanding “I want this. It is mine. I have it now” and then letting it go, and believing it is so. Once you shift your inner state, and become aware that your desired reality is already right here, your external world has NO CHOICE but to reflect back to you what you are conscious of being.

So, if you are constantly assuming you are visualizing wrong (or any “technique” for that matter), your external world will show you evidence of this. Assumptions harden into fact. Your undesirable realities will continue to express themselves in front of you, because you have this assumption that you’re doing something wrong and that you have to keep “trying”. Having mental conversations with yourself, and constantly affirming “Ugh, I am not good at getting into a state akin to sleep”, or “I am not good at visualizing, I always struggle”, do you not believe these very assumptions will harden into fact? This isn’t an exception to the law.

Not to mention, you are not living in the end or in the wish fulfilled if you are constantly worrying about these things. This is clear evidence of your awareness of lack, rather than fulfillment.

If you will just get out of your own way, and stop focusing on your belief that you need to visualize to get your desire, you will feel much more at peace. You will instead, focus on it already being here, right NOW, no matter what technique or tool you decide to facilitate you.

I want to make it clear that I am in no way saying visualization is bad. It’s an AMAZING way to get you to that feeling place. I love visualization. But when you’re constantly wondering if you’re doing it right, and forgetting the core teachings, it will backfire.

The most important aspect of this great Law, is knowing Who You Really Are. You are God, you are Source, you are the Universe, you are the Operant Power. Whatever you choose to call it. Once you become aware that you are infinitely greater than anything you could ever conceive of, this whole process becomes peaceful. You are no longer in “get mode”. You are now in “Ah, it is mine. It is done. I am always winning.” mode. It is a knowing. A knowing that life is always on your side. A knowing that you deserve your desires because they are beautiful gifts from God. God speaks through you, through your desires. When you are questioning any of this, you are “sinning” as Neville says. You are going against the very nature of things.

I know you might want to keep taking action or forcing things to happen, or visualize constantly, but that’s only your ego speaking. You know better, don’t you? Dare to assume your desire is already yours. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

“I knew I must catch the feeling that we were sailing on that ship. I chose the inner action of stepping from the tender and climbing up the gangplank of the steamer. The first time I tried, my attention wandered after I had reached the top of the gangplank. I brought myself back down, and tried again and again. I do not recall how many times I carried out this action in my imagination until I reached the deck and looked back at the port with the feeling of sweet sadness at departing. I was happy to be returning to my home in New York, but nostalgic in saying goodbye to the lovely island and our family and friends. I do recall that in one of my many attempts at walking up the gangplank in the feeling that I was sailing, I fell asleep. After I awoke, I went about the usual social activities of the day and evening.”

Non- Visualization Technique:

Neville says we can simply repeat “Isn’t it wonderful?” or “Thank you, thank you, thank you” over and over again until we feel the feeling of fulfillment. I absolutely love closing my eyes, making my desire clear to myself and then just repeating “thank you”. I did this the other day while feeling utmost peace, and received a text message I had been wanting, within 3-4 hours. I felt the feeling, and let it go, knowing it was done and went on with my day. It is done! You don’t need to be in a trance. You don’t even need to be lying or sitting down.

Something else I suggest, is to make a list of all the manifestations you’ve had in your life. Now look at the ones where you manifested it effortlessly and easily. You could even write down the wonderful things that happened to you before learning about conscious creation, because EVERYTHING in your life has been manifested by you, since you were born. Look at them and realize how effortless YOU made them happen. Do you see how you are only complicating things because of your own limiting beliefs?

It’s not even that you need to claim something to already be yours. Because it already IS yours! Do you think your realities belong to anyone else? Do you think they’ll suddenly disappear? All you must know, is that it is done and that your desires MUST show up in your external world simply because you said so. Stop complicating things. Stop seeking new techniques or new ways to do something. Your desires aren’t going anywhere, it will always be yours. This is your own personal dream, so have fun with it!

So how exactly do we assume that our desired reality is already here, when we don’t see it? How do we walk in it every day all the time?

I am really enjoying reading all your blog. It truly brings a new understanding on Neville teachings – and a feeling of freedom from all the “techniques” of the LOA community.

    Thank you very much!

It’s awesome. This is the first time I hear someone saying to choose the technique that fit you better or feels more natural to you. Almost everybody would emphasize on one technique that is the best one and the result is more struggles and shifting sands. Thank you Jennifer. It’s been a great relief.

I am with a few people on here when i understand everything about LOA etc but it’s actually getting into the “state” is a tad tricky…essentially you just need to have blind faith and belief that “it’s done” and that techniques mean nothing if you can’t “feel” that your wish is already fulfilled. I mean what about inanimate objects? and things you don’t care for?

Do you have any recommendations for falling asleep while repeating the scene? I start visualizing as I get in bed and then start worrying about when I will fall asleep. How do I stop this and actually fall asleep in the scene when it feels like I have been looping the scene for 30/40+ minutes.
