As I write this article, I am having one of those days where I am not feeling my usual self. I woke up with a random burst of anxiety, that I had not felt in a very long time, for no apparent reason.
It was because of this feeling, is why I was inspired to write this article. I read your messages, your comments in the groups, and I see where most people are struggling. They are great at telling themselves a story, but some people are still struggling to occupy the state of this wonderful (and 1000% real) new story, that they are telling themselves.
I get asked quite a lot, “How do you have full faith?”, “How did you accept that you are God and believe it?”, “How do I just stay in the state of believing?”.
The state that I choose to dwell in, is the state of knowing my desires are mine no matter what, and remembering who I really am. I only identify with being the God of this reality. I know that my true nature is only one thing– I AM. And I AM is what chooses a state to occupy, and therefore fulfills the experience of that state.
For example, while waking up and not feeling my best, I did not identify with that state. I chose to remember that I am simply occupying this state at this moment, and I remained unmoved and un-bothered by it. Even if I did not like the feeling, I reminded myself that this passing feeling does not have to mean or symbolize anything. It’s just another passing state.
Reread my paragraph above, and realize that every time I say “I”, I am speaking of my true self- God. You can even reread the paragraph and add the word God, after each “I”.
I sat with myself and remembered who I truly, really AM. With this understanding, I no longer needed to be afraid of the state I was in at that moment. I no longer correlated it to my desires or the wonderful life I have.
The being that you really are, descended to the weakness of the flesh, causing you to experience the state you are now in. Contemplate another state, and the same being who brought your present form into being will restore and make alive the other state, the state desired. This he will continue to do until his purpose is fulfilled. That purpose is to follow a certain pattern back into the unity of being. You see, in the beginning we were drafted. We did not volunteer to fall into these states. We were made subject into futility, not willingly but by the will of him who sent us. But when we return we will discover that we are the very being who subjected us. We are now the sons, destined to return as God the Father!Neville Goddrd
You are God, experiencing an infinite amount of states in this lifetime. Right now you are either in a state of knowing your desires are yours, or you are in a state of not knowing it is yours. Either way, both states are equally valid, and one is not more hard or easy to shift into. It’s all the same.
I never wonder how to get into a state. I simply acknowledge that each state belongs to me, it’s all mine for the taking. Similarly, I never wonder how to accept I am God or how to have full faith in my desires. Because with trying and wondering implies the assumption of, “I am not it” or that I need to go get there. There are no prerequisites for being God. The kingdom of Heaven is within you, and it is yours whether you believe in it, feel worthy of it, or think about it. It’s always going to be yours.
It is your father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. You do not earn it. It is not your due, it’s not a reward. It’s simply a gift, unmerited. And therefore you cannot lose it. This gift is irrevocable. So no man can take it from you, no man can give it to you, so let no one frighten you. It is yours and it’s coming on time, and the gift is nothing less than God himself. When he gives you the kingdom, he gives you himself. For the kingdom is not a realm, the kingdom is a character, it’s a body. And that body is perfect, and wherever you are clothed in that body, everything around you is perfect.Neville Goddard
You shift into a state of knowing it is done, by first realizing that there are no requirements to shift into it. You have to accept that your desires are yours, and that you are God, even when you do not fully feel like it or believe it right here. How can you embody something that you already are? When you ask “How do I get to that place where I know I am God?”, you are still thinking there is some sort of separation between “you” and your Godself. But you ARE your Godself, you cannot escape it.
Every time you say ‘I AM’ or ‘I’ or ‘My”, etc., whatever you place after it is the state you are choosing to occupy. It is the reality you are choosing to experience. Each state has its own beliefs and rules. In my universe, I choose to assume that as I go through the motions of different states per day, nothing will ever hinder me in any way.
When I first learnt about who I really am, it was not something that I fully believed overnight. But I didn’t keep asking, “How do I make myself believe?”. I knew I already am the God with full faith and belief. I knew that even if I didn’t believe, I am still God, and that I was already embracing and embodying that, and that the lack of belief is simply just a state. Not an obstacle or hindrance. Even knowing you are God, is a state. Each state belongs to your I AMness.
As I went through the range of emotions and states per day– the highs, lows, being indifferent, and so on, in the back of my head, I kept reminding myself that none of it matters.
Thinking that you need to be perfect at this, or that you need to fully feel it all of the time, or embody that one perfect state, is the majority of the problem. Drop the story that any of these are requirements. In other words, drop the notion that something needs to be solved first, in order for you to manifest your desires or feel like you are God.
Where you place your focus, will make up the state you occupy. If you focus on needing to believe, needing to be perfect or needing to fully feel powerful all of the time, then you are focused on needing to be a certain way first, before your desires can manifest.
The paradox, is that when you focus on who you really are, and let the experience of different states come and go, you will actually start to feel powerful. Because you are no longer creating unnecessary obstacles. You are no longer focusing on needing or lack. Your are fully embracing that you may not fully feel it, and that is okay.
If you focus on “that is okay”, then you will manifest more of “it’s okay, I can get what I want, even if I do not fully feel powerful all of the time”.
Every state is an attitude, a state of experience with a body of beliefs that an individual son of the Most High occupies. So the states into which we fall cannot mar or in any way deter our immortal self who fell.
You don’t have to remain in a state if you have made a mistake. You can change states morning, noon, and night, but the state to which you most constantly return constitutes your dwelling place.
So when I speak of states I am speaking of states of consciousness, attitudes of mind which create a body of belief. My sister and brothers at home do not believe in the same Christ as I do, even though we were all born in the same family and raised in the same environment. My brothers call themselves Christians but their definition of Christ would differ from mine.Neville Goddard
The day I started this article, and was feeling all sorts of things, as I said, I did not care. I did not go into panic mode. I connected with my Godself– “Be Still And Know I AM God”. That very same day, I received a $300 USD gift card that I could use to buy anything I want, through some bridge of events, and about 2 days prior to that, I had assumed I would win something very soon. Did I feel it all day long or constantly tell myself I need to feel like a winner? No. In fact, I felt pretty much the opposite that day.
This is how you stay in a state of knowing your desires are yours, by accepting that even if you don’t believe, even if you have fears or doubts, it’s all fine and good. I don’t need to be perfect all of the time. This is the attitude of mind, like Neville says, that I choose to embody. This is the state I choose to dwell in, no matter what I feel or experience. With this understanding, I never have to wonder or contemplate on how to shift into a state, because everything I experience- good, bad, or indifferent, is all part of the fulfillment of my desires.
Now I know, that whatever I feel or don’t feel, is all part of the unfolding. No more questioning how to get there, I am there all of the time.
I am not telling you that one state is right and another wrong. I am simply asking you to judge all states with love.Neville Goddard
