Feelings & Emotions / Remembering Who You Really Are

How To Cope With the Difficulties of the Manifesting & Awakening Journey

Sometimes I feel very overwhelmed and burnt out, and this is usually when I have neglected to center and ground myself enough, or when I have forgotten my boundaries. I know some of you can resonate with this feeling as you go about your day thinking about your desires, coming across circumstances that trigger a lot of feelings and old stories within. It can feel very intense and overwhelming at times, and you may start to question and doubt yourself and the process. This can cause a feeling of urgency which can lead to a sporadic way of thinking. You may turn to the nearest thing to make you feel better- an article, video, social media post etc., and while these things can inspire us and help guide us, it can unconsciously cause us to run away from our fears and from going within.

It is through our fears that we understand what love really is. It is through our fears that we connect back to our truest nature. It is through our fears that we learn about the deepest parts of ourselves, and unveil the illusions.

I am sure you know, as you have experienced by now, that this journey is not always pleasant. There are moments where things feel so tough, you may start to feel delusional. Or maybe you feel like you have wasted your time. I find, that when we are focused on the wrong thing and bring judgment into our processes, it can cause us to feel drained and hopeless. When we approach this new lifestyle, it is important to keep in mind that the Ego is unlearning many old habits, beliefs, patterns, cycles etc. Things that have kept us safe and in our comfort zone, we are now trying to dissolve all at once. Naturally, our bodies and minds will react to this shift. In these moments, practicing self compassion is important, but also remembering that manifestation and these emotions are a part of something bigger.

Conscious creation is not just a part of life, it is what brings us to the realization of what consciousness really is. It is the inner calling guiding us back home. But, when we bring separation into our process, although sometimes subtle, we can forget to harmonize our human self with our True Self. We can forget that a part of remembering who we really are, is to embrace our humanity. Coming from a culture/society (that is still a mirror of our inner stories) that pushes that hard work equals success, can unconsciously cause us to transfer that same mindset into manifestation, which can trigger feelings of guilt and shame.

I find, that the best way to stop guilting and shaming ourselves for where we are, is to be authentic and honest with ourselves. It is okay to be honest that you are feeling a certain way about a circumstance or a feeling you are experiencing within yourself. Give yourself permission to do this. I think a huge misconception in many communities is the idea that admitting to our fears or uncomfortable feelings means weakness or stepping out of the state of the wish fulfilled. However, I find that judging ourselves for doing or feeling these things causes more resistance. Judging ourselves usually leads to more judgment towards the 3D world and towards others. And as we know now, this judgment keeps us in a state of disempowerment and lack.

Our intention and assumption underneath why we express ourselves, or how we cope, is what determines the state we embody- a state of victimization or a state of empowerment. Being authentic requires trust in ourselves. It requires trust in our actions/non-actions, in where we are and in what we do on a daily basis to help us remember who we are, to shift our self concept and to manifest our desires. It also requires being okay with putting up boundaries for yourself. I think another misconception in the community is that we need to stay/involve ourselves in unlovely circumstances in order to manifest our desires.

A boundary I place for myself, is to step back/away from a circumstance or activity that makes me feel drained, and instead I go within to ground myself or release any emotions. I also give myself permission to slow down when needed and to not force myself to do anything I do not want to do. I also allow myself to express myself while communicating with others. I do this while taking responsibility for my own feelings and inner stories, and assuming I am heard, seen and respected- as they are only a mirror of our own inner state of being.

There is also a misconception that we must not give attention to things in the shadow world or else they will continue to show up. However, I think believing that we need to isolate and constrict ourselves in this way is still coming from lack and fear. When you remember who you are, you trust that it is okay to acknowledge things, while still putting up boundaries if you need to. This does not take away from our desires manifesting, unless we choose to see the desire as something to achieve rather than something that is already done. It is completely okay to acknowledge something as temporary or as a part of the process, while still understanding that because we have imagined something, it must manifest.

When we think that conscious manifestation is separate from who we are, it can also unconsciously cause us to place our lives on hold. It can create a feeling that we are striving for something rather than living our lives as we want to, with the knowing that our desires will fit perfectly into it. These conditions we place on our lives and on our journeys, come from a place of feeling like we need these in order to live beautiful lives and experience what we desire. And when we do this, the journey can cause us to feel like we are waiting versus living. The purpose of conscious manifestation is not for us to stop living life, but to look at life, ourselves, others and reality in a different way.

It can feel stifling to place so many restrictions on ourselves. This is why sometimes you may feel that before learning about the Law, things felt easier. Too often, we assume that shifting a state requires a lot of effort or a special kind of skill. However, even the things that are not directly related to the teachings can help shift our state. When we do not believe in ourselves or trust in where we are, we are more prone to hyper focusing on certain things and using them as a confirmation that we are not where we want to be. You might find yourself comparing your journey to other people’s success stories, completely forgetting that they are connected to you.

These shifts in perception and mindset can help us with difficult moments, because It can help us to see the difficult moments as the driving force rather than the thing that is holding us back. I am very much aware that this is not always easy to feel or remember, and that is also okay!

It is okay if things do not feel effortless and easy right now. This does not take away from the truth of who you are because God is not fragmented. God is not one single emotion, feeling, state, etc.- God is everything. God is every state, feeling, emotion and reality, and the willingness to embrace this brings us closer to embracing our True Self, and releases some of the pressure we place on ourselves on this journey.

Wow… This really hit home for me. Thank you for putting words for the emotions and thoughts that I am experiencing. I was always in this tug of war between feeling like I’m thinking about my desires and the future vs living in the moment and not worrying. This reminded me that it’s okay that doubts, worries, and fears will come up and to embrace them, because you can STILL get what you want . It’s so clear now that as long as you claim your desires as yours, it will show up in the most perfect way, which is why it’s okay to live in the present moment while still focusing on your desires whenever you feel inspired, rather than a chore.

Finally, someone wrote this article! We have been given 5 senses and a ego mind – I believe that its absolutely normal and perfect to go through all sort of emotions during our journey. Being perfect is being – whatever shows up in our life. Thank you Jennifer for telling and writing truth words and real guidance for all of us. Much love.

      Hi Atharva,

I only manifest positive things even if I think negatively :-https://www.iam-love.co/2019/10/25/i-only-manifest-positive-things-even-if-i-think-negatively/

This is the most perfectly timed, perfectly written article. I was only sharing my thoughts on the ‘ugly’ side of spiritual awakening with a friend of mine who is at a similar stage in their process. I wonder if perhaps the ‘ugly’ uncomfortable side of awakening isn’t discussed because people would avoid it.

There are times I feel blessed to have been chosen to awaken. To understand my true self and I believe I have been chosen because of my strength and ability to face this process of unlearning all the human conditioning, but there are days it is utterly overwhelming.

That said I take comfort when it’s tough knowing that I am divinely taken care of, I make the assumption that this is all part of the plan and that I am allowed to feel, do, not do anything that comes over me. When I feel off I ask myself what message is this sending me? What do I need? Our bodies are incredible source of messages if you can shut off the noise (fear) and listen.

Hi Natasha, I love your message! You are absolutely right. Sometimes we still practice a form of separation and duality when we avoid the uncomfortable feelings and emotions. I am glad you enjoyed the article, thank you so much for supporting! ?️??

This is a miracle, beyond anything I can explain. I spent hours on YouTube watching many different videos, feeling overwhelmed and mentally exhausted, when I decided to return here, to the website that helped start everything for me in the very beginning, and the one that has done the most for me and my life and my understanding. And what do I find placed right in my face upon coming back here is this very article, that feels so remarkably coincidental (although I do not believe in coincidence, I couldn’t find a better word) as though it was written just for me in this very moment, and was exactly what I was needing. Thank you <3

This was so genuine and beautifully written, thank you for sharing this gift with us. You tapped directly into the many varied feelings on this journey of awakening. While it’s thrilling and amazing, it can often feel isolating and shameful — directly at oneself. So again, thank you for this beautiful article.

This was beautifully written. I have been studying Neville Goddard for a while. I am now recovering from alcoholism and for those who know it is rough on the mind dealing with depression. This now made me scared of Neville’s teachings because I feel that while thinking so negative sometimes I fear those thoughts manifesting. Neville was pretty direct that what you believe and impress on the subconscious will manifest in reality. It made me want to seek religion for a God that won’t allow those thoughts to manifest. But it felt wrong praying in a way I didn’t really believe in. Readings like this help because it gives a new take on his teachings. Thank you for your writing.

Hi Sean! I am so glad that the article helped you. I am sending you well intentions through your recovery! It’s more than okay to have negative thoughts. The thoughts themselves have no power at all. No meaning. How we navigate them is what is most important! 🙂
