The Law of Assumption and Your Creative Power – Reader’s Submission

If you are familiar with Neville Goddard’s teachings, you probably know that he never spoke of the Law of Attraction. Instead, he spoke of the law of assumption, which is a more accurate expression if you want to understand how you attract things and people into your life.

The law of assumption is the ability to assume that you ALREADY have that which you cannot yet see in the world of Caesar has he called it, meaning the physical world.

Why am I saying the physical world?

Because, according to Neville there are two worlds, and while they are of a different field of energy, as it were, both are “real” or both are “just a dream” whichever one you want to call it. That part wasn’t exactly the most important subject for Neville. Because for him what was “real” was also “a dream” and vice-versa.

He called those two worlds, the outer world of effect and the inner world of causation. The 3D world and the world of imagination.

Neville always made it very clear that the 3D world wouldn’t be able to exist without the world of imagination, because the outer world was the effect of the inner world which had caused it.

A house, a car, a chair, a road, a computer, a bridge, a painting, a piece of clothing, etc. EVERYTHING man-made existed first in the imagination of man (human beings).

But what about trees, flowers, the sky, the rocks, the dirt, the oceans, etc. How did those come into play? All of those, too are God’s imagination. And humans and God are one. Thus the whole world is created by our God-given imagination.

So, whether we speak of the 3D world, the one that we can see with our physical eyes, or the 4D world, the one that we can see with our mind ‘eyes, they are both coming from God that is within us, and both do exist. The only difference is that the world that we create in 4D will eventually harden in 3D. Our inner world will become our outer world.

This phenomenon was often compared with pregnancy by Neville. Talking about both humans and animals, there is a time lag between conception and birth, but what has been conceived is bound to be born in the 3D world.

Once you have planted the seed in your mind, using your imagination, you are bound to give birth to that which you have imagined, in your 3D world.
Imagination and assumption will harden into fact, as Neville used to say.

What is the Law of Assumption?

The law of assumption is the ability to self-persuade the feeling of the wish fulfilled. Living in the end, as if what you want to have, or be, was already yours.

As Abdullah (Neville’s teacher), and later Neville, used to say, there is no such thing as being a little pregnant. Either you are pregnant or you’re not. Either you assume something or you don’t. If you don’t truly assume that you already have what you want, that you already are living in the end, it won’t come to fruition.

Once you have created what you want in your imagination, it is already finished as per the LAW. Therefore, the PROMISE is that it will harden into fact. Only your doubts could abort your manifestation, as it were.

When you have planted your desire using your imagination, let it grow using the law of assumption, knowing with full faith that it will grow to maturity in its own time.

Some desires will grow pretty fast and others will take more time, but either way, in time, they will manifest.

Test Your Creative Power

“We do feed on ideas. Feed your mind a certain idea for one week, and you will change its structure. Continue for two weeks, and you will be well fed on lovely thoughts. This is a fictitious world and you are its author. Nothing is impossible. Dream beautiful dreams for you are all imagination”

Neville Goddard – 1968 Lecture: There is no Fiction

Test your creative power by imagining a specific event that you want to happen in your life. The best time to do this is when you lie down in bed before sleep.

Take a few deep breaths to calm down and relax, as you close your eyes. Once you are relaxed and centered, start imagining a scene that you want to manifest. Imagining a scene is no harder than remembering something from your past. You are seeing the scene in front of your mind’s eyes.

If you lose your focus, just bring the scene back slowly, and keep it alive in your mind as much as you can until you fall asleep.

Keep in mind, that whether you are aware of it or not, you are always falling asleep with some type of images going through your brain. By being conscious of such images, you can control your world rather than let the world control you.

You can do this just one time or as many times as you feel it is needed. The essential thing is that you assume that it is done. Creation is already finished. As soon as you have a thought, it is done. It’s only you that needs to convince yourself of that.

When you feel that you can’t manifest something, it’s only because you are assuming that it’s not working. Because as soon as you are assuming that it is done, you have already manifested it. Just allow the gestation time to take place, and when pregnancy comes to term, you will see your manifestation harden into facts in the world of Caesar.

Awesome!! You really simplified the teachings of Neville. I think too many times people try to complicate the process which causes resistance and doubt. Great article, thank you Sylviane. Btw, love your name, my father’s middle name was Silvio.

Hello, I really appreciate this blog so much and it is helping me a lot. But, I do have one question. Every night, before I go to sleep, I always imagine lovely thoughts and feeling it a lot, but why do I always wake up with nightmares in the morning?

Not sure! That’s a first to me. Are you watching scary movies at times?

Thanks a lot for your reply! No, I don’t watch scary movies. There was this one time I tricked my mind into thinking negative thoughts before I sleep, then the next morning I woke up smiling because I had a dream with my SP cuddling together. At one point, I got so tired of having nightmares, I didn’t think of any lovely thoughts anymore, but then, I couldn’t disregard from what I learned here “Persistence is the Key” so, no matter what my nightmares are, I persist to think lovely thoughts and live the life I desire. I may wake up with a heaviness in my heart, but I take time to evaluate it, then move on. Start again into thinking lovely thoughts and just be grateful for everything.

  • […] The reason why Neville put emphasis on buying the pearl it’s because the main reason why people are struggling to manifest their desires it’s because they rely on something or someone outside of themselves to manifest their own desires. Even when you rely on techniques such as visualization, SATS (state akin to sleep), whispering, and so on… to manifest, you still have not fully understood that the true power is within. YOU are the operant power, and all you need is to BELIEVE/ASSUME that you are. […]
